The news tells us the Covid-19 infection rate is spiking in much of Oregon, including in our home of Multnomah County. Oregon Governor Kate Brown has called for both a “pause” in social activities and everyone to reassess their situations to minimize risk. We have done this reassessment and concluded we need to cease in store shopping, following state and CDC guidelines.
We will still be available for curbside pick-up and we will happily ship things to our customers. This change is for the safety and comfort of everyone: staff, customers, and the greater community.
F.H. Steinbart Company has been a part of the global beer and the Portland, Oregon communities for over a century, with our current owner John DeBenedetti at the helm for almost a half century of that time. We know we must exercise caution during a global pandemic, having survived one already.
Most importantly, though, we know the only way out of this pandemic for people minimize contact with others while retaining our mental health. We know that home fermenting helps with both of these goals, and we’re thrilled to help you all keep (or get!) fermenting.
We are going to miss everyone’s faces, but we know we’ll see them again. We sincerely appreciate your understanding as we move away from in store shopping at this time.
Thank you all for 102 years of love, support, and fermentations.
